Campaign focus: Mystery, fandom and real-world immersion aligned with Sleep Token’s “Even In Arcadia” narrative

For Sleep Token’s first-ever headline slot at Download Festival 2025, RCA Records partnered with Certifi to create a world-first, geo-fenced AR fan activation that blurred the line between music, mythology, and technology. The aim was to reward the band’s most devoted followers with exclusive lore-based collectibles and experiences, while building genuine, first-party fan data. The result was one of the most talked-about activations of the festival season, merging the mystery of Sleep Token’s universe with real-world engagement at unprecedented scale.








Mechanics of the Activation
Geo-Fenced Exclusivity:
QR codes were placed at key points along the festival journey: train stations, service stops, entry gates, and inside the festival grounds. Only users physically within the Download Festival perimeter could access the activation, maintaining exclusivity and authenticity.
Lore-Based Puzzle Entry:
Fans who scanned the code had to complete an anagram related to Sleep Token’s mythology before progressing, ensuring only true devotees could unlock the experience.
House Allegiance & AR Collectibles:
Successful participants chose between the House of Feathers or House of Veridian, receiving a unique, commemorative AR coin and a custom-designed iOS or Android Wallet Pass.
Tiered Rewards:
200 participants from each House were randomly selected to receive a physical gold coin redeemable at the merch stand, along with a golden AR asset.
VIP Headline Experience:
Six lucky winners received an unforgettable upgrade, watching Sleep Token’s headline set from the sound tower opposite the main stage, a once-in-a-lifetime vantage point shared only by the band’s closest team.
